About AuSPENThe Australian Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (AuSPEN) was founded in 1974. The society has been renamed the Australasian Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition to reflect our membership from Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region. AuSPEN is a multidisciplinary society focussing on Clinical Nutrition. The membership includes physicians, surgeons, intensivists, dietitians, pharmacists, nurses and scientists. The aims of the Society are to:encourage knowledge enhancement and professional competence in the field of nutrition support
promote an evidence-based approach to nutrition in clinical practice
encourage membership involvement in research and its dissemination
provide clinical nutrition expertise in an advisory capacity to Government bodies, other nutrition organisations and health professionals
act as an advocate for patients requiring nutritional support
