We’re excited to announce that AuSPEN Conference will take place at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for 2024. We look forward to catching up with everyone in Brisbane from 14 -16 November. The theme is 'The Many Faces of Clinical Nutrition'. You can visit the 2024 Conference website here.

The inaugural AusPEN conference in Auckland this year was a fabulous event held at the beautiful Park Hyatt on Auckland’s waterfront – the perfect venue to host this year’s conference, the theme Te Anga Whakamua – Moving Forward. What a way to move forward with Auckland putting on the weather and a fantastic line-up of speakers, notably Professor Simon Lal, an expert in Intestinal Failure from Manchester and Mary Phillips, a Hepato-pancreato-biliary Specialist Dietitian from Surrey. It was a privilege to hear Professor Ian Bissett’s reflections over the past 35 years working in intestinal failure & other notable local speakers included Professor John Windsor, Dawson Ward, Professor Colin McArthur and Dr Catherine Wall. The debate between Dr Ibolya Nyulasi and Dr Helen Evans at the end of the first day was entertaining – a closely fought match narrowly won by Dr Evans. This was followed by the networking event with delegates donning their disco gear & dancing shoes. The closing session by Dr Lal on palliation in parenteral nutrition was a provocative topic to end the conference providing food for thought for many of us.
