This narrative review provides an overview of the nutrition challenges faced by patients after ICU discharge and in the home, as well as suggestions to promote recovery for survivors. Key areas of consideration include the role of the patient, clinician education, nutrition impact symptoms, the role of communication, and the use of multimodal interventions.

Sarcopenic obesity, defined as obesity with low skeletal muscle function and mass, has recently been recognised as a relevant obesity phenotype with substantial negative impact. An international network of clinical nutrition societies combine to promote a nutrition network focusing on sarcopenic obesity nutritional implications, clinical nutrition research, and implementation of sarcopenic obesity diagnosis and treatment in routine clinical practice.
Hot Off the Press: Very low energy ketogenic diet vs. Mediterranean diet for MASLD: Superior steatosis reduction in a randomised pilot study
This pilot randomised controlled trial provides the first direct comparison between a ketogenic very low energy diet (VLED) and a Mediterranean diet for the treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). The growing burden of people who are overweight and obese with early-stage MASLD means that effective dietary weight loss interventions with proven hepatic and metabolic benefits are urgently required.
